The King is Alive!

Sorry I'm behind on my blogging, got back late last night and didn't have time.
I bet most of you are wondering what my title is supposed to mean, but you'll have to wait for that.

On Monday morning, we got up, had breakfast, and went to the bus stop. We took the bus through the Lincoln tunnel and into Times Square. We spent time walking around, looking at stores, and taking in the sites. When we had looked around for a while we decided to go into the Hershey store. As soon as we walked in, we could smell chocolate. The store had every kind of chocolate you could imagine. After we were done looking around there, we headed across the street to the M&M store. We spent some time there and bought some M&Ms.

Then we headed north, towards central park. We stopped at FAO Schwartz to look at some toys. We then headed into the park and to the zoo. The zoo wasn't too exciting. A lot of the animals there were the same as the ones in Green Bay. We left and headed deeper into the park. We spent some time there, resting every once and a while, slowly heading to the west side, where the Museum of Natural History is. When we finally got over there, we were happy to get into an air conditioned building.

We were in the museum for a few hours. When we got out, we knew we had a long walk to the bus terminal. We made a few stops on the way back, to the Nintendo store and to the giant Toys R Us in Times Square. By this time, I was very tired, and a little cranky from the heat, so I was glad to be going back to our hotel.
On the way in to the bus station, my mom said that she saw Elvis but I didn't believe her.  We had just gotten to our seats on the bus when we saw Elvis coming onto our bus!  We tried not to laugh as he walked strait towards us.  He sat a few seats ahead of us and I was able to get this picture.  Guess you never know what you'll see in NY. You might even see a guy in an Indian head dress and underwear standing in Times Square playing a drum.

Until next time,

The Roving Redhead

  1. Hey Evan,

Great blog today! We sure enjoyed reading your thoughts about that first day in NYC. Sounds like you really put the miles on your legs and feet. Glad you hung in there-you don't get to experience NYC every day!

Were you all tempted to ask Elvis for his autograph?

We think Sadie is starting to miss all of you. Sometimes she has sort of a sad look in her eyes. She is being a good dog. She is doing a great job of keeping the chipmunks and rabbits out of the yard and garden!

    Keep on blogging.
